Phuc Do is a full professor at IMT Mines Ales, an technological engineering school of IMTFrench Federal Institute of Technological Universities of science and management for sustainable economic development.  From september 2011 to august 2025, he was an associate professor at University of Lorraine (lecturer at TELECOM Nancy and researcher  at CRAN lab – Nancy Research Centre for Automatic Control). His research interests focus on the development of innovative approaches for reliability and maintenance engineering: degradation modelling, reliability assessment, Prognostics and Health Management (PHM), optimization of maintenance strategies (condition-based maintenance, predictive/prescriptive maintenance optimization, opportunistic and dynamic grouping maintenance), reliability importance measures, AI for PHM and predictive maintenance. He is involved as contributor and project leader in many industrial contracts such as RENAULT, SECTOR, Feedgy, EODev or even international projects or European projects (e.g., H2020 AI-PROFICIENT, Horizon MODAPTO, COFECUB project). He is principal supervisor of 8 PhD candidates and co-supervisor of 7 other PhD candidates. He is also associated editor of several international journals such as International Journal of Prognostics & Health Management, Safety and reliability journal, Autonomous Intelligent Systems, Machines, Mathematics and Co-guest editor of several special issues for different international journal such as Reliability engineering & system safety, journal of risk and reliability, Autonomous Intelligent Systems, Modelling, journal of safety and reliability. In addition, he is actively involving in different scientific communities such as MIMAR (Modelling in Industrial Maintenance and Reliability, co-chair/Chair of the 9th- 13th International MIMAR Conferences), PHM society (PHME-European Prognostics and Health Management, proceedings chair since 2018), ESRA (European Safety and Reliability Association, IPC of ESREL conferences), IFAC (International Federation of Automatic Control, IPC of AMEST conferences.

Phuc Do received his Ph.D. in systems optimisation and dependability in 2008 from University of Technology of Troyes (France), where he held an assistant professor position from 2008 to 2011. He joined Lorraine University in September 2011. He obtained his habilitation HDR (Habilitation à Rédiger des Recherches) intitled « Towards a prescriptive maintenance » from Lorraine University in 2019.
